Wouldn't it be awesome if we brought water to 1,600 people?
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. Our hydration, hot showers, and clean pools are assured, simply because of where we were born.
But many people don’t have that luxury. 663 million live without clean water. This leads to a issues impacting health, economy, and rates of violence. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Stripped down to our essentials, water is really a foundation for a healthy society.
Shouldn't we do something about that?
The Roaming 20s is about making ourselves better, and I think focusing on using all that we have to love other people is a great way to do that. Thats why I'm using my bucket list as a fundraiser -- it's like a walkathon, where you donate to a good cause based on someone completing their pledged number of miles. In this case, the miles are a bucket list.
I've set up a campaign through Charity: Water -- a rapidly growing non-profit that is well-reputed and gives 100% of all the money we raise to providing water to those without. Our goal is $50,000 - enough to bring water to 1,666 thirsty people.
Please donate to my campaign — I’m challenging everyone to give $10 a month. That’s giving up two Starbucks runs or one movie ticket. Discipline is how music is made.
All of our small efforts combined can make a huge difference -- anything you can give matters significantly to the person who receives it.
Charity: Water let's us make our giving personal. The funding that we raise through the Roaming 20s Campaign is collected quarterly, so we don't have to wait to start making big waves. Every three months, our money will go towards funding a project, and they will provide everyone with updates on how Charity: Water is changing the world.
Hi, I'm Moriah. With an O.
Curious Cat. Impulsive Adventurer. Dog Person. Coffee Addict. This is the un-scripted tale of my quest to make the most of my 20s, and I really want you to play a part. Do you like passport stamps, sushi, motivational quotes, vinyl records, tiny details, sarcastic humor, and that satisfying feeling of I-did-something-with-my-life-today? Were gonna go to amazing places together. (And no, you don't have to be 20!)
